Porsche 911 GT3

Porsche 911 GT3

As the years go on and Porsche introduces more forced induction, more PDK transmissions, and more weight to even their top-performing offerings, the 997 generation has been looked back upon as perhaps the last of the “true” 911s.

And among all of the 997’s variants, the GT3 stands alone.

Not as hardcore as the later RS version. Not as powerful as the venerable Turbo. But perhaps the best all-around performing iteration for those who split their time between the office, date nights, long morning drives, and HPDEs.

Though boasting plenty of modern safety and amenities, the 997 GT3 retains a classic narrow body, six-speed manual, and the tell-tale mechanical wail of its naturally-aspirated flat-six engine.

While the newest versions are undoubtedly quicker, history will always fondly remember the 997 GT3. Will you?
